PacAdvantage was established by the Pacific Business Group on Health (PBGH). Founded in 1989, PBGH is a non-profit coalition of major California employers that is nationally recognized for its efforts to improve the quality and availability of health care while moderating costs. Referred to as value based purchasing, it means that PBGH cares equally about quality, availability and cost. PBGH's 50 major purchaser members represent approximately 3,000,000 employees, retirees and their families and billions of dollars in annual health care expenditures.
